Disaster has this nasty way of sneaking up to you when you’re most vulnerable. Around 250GB of personal data is now in limbo in a WD external disk. I did a quick reinstall of my dayjob workstation and transferred all of my files to the WD disk. It’s a routine reinstall and everything was cool… until I came to the point where I’m copying all the files back to the workstation. Buffer I/O errors!
Remember n+1 redundancy? Make sure the +1 works.
